Zero to Airlines
The most reliable, maintenance-free pathway to your professional pilot career. Go from zero flight time to airline-ready in a structured, efficient environment.
The Fast Track
to the Flight Deck
The global aviation industry needs 127,000 new pilots over the next 20 years. The opportunity is massive, but the traditional path is broken. Most aspiring pilots don't fail because they lack skill; they quit because of the 'Hidden Killers' of flight training: maintenance delays, marine layer weather cancellations, and disjointed curriculums.
The Zero to Airlines program at MH Aviation isn't just a bundle of, it is a logistical solution to these industry problems. By controlling our own maintenance (Part 145) and flying out of the weather-optimized Fox Field (KWJF), we remove the friction that drags a 2-year goal into a 5-year struggle.
This is a cohesive career trajectory designed to get you to your 1,500-hour airline minimums faster, safer, and with higher proficiency.
Program Overview
* MH Aviation instructors are independent contractors and are not employees of MH Aviation.
- • U.S. Citizen (or TSA clearance)
- • Ability to obtain FAA First Class Medical
- • Full-time availability recommended for fastest progression
A Professional Environment from Day One
At MH Aviation, we treat you like a professional pilot before you even earn your first stripe. You aren't just 'renting a plane'; you are entering a structured training pipeline.
Expect a high-tempo learning environment. Because our planes are maintained in-house, they fly. Because they fly, you fly. This consistency allows you to build muscle memory faster and retain information better, reducing the need for costly review flights.
You will train in a fleet upgraded for modern relevance—flying Cessna 172s with 180HP engine conversions for high-performance handling and Garmin G5 glass cockpits to master the avionics you'll see in regional jets.
- Consistent schedule with minimal maintenance cancellations.
- Training in high-density altitude environments for superior stick-and-rudder skills.
- A 'family-style' culture where your progress is personally monitored.
Start Your Journey
Don't let delays ground your career.

Why MH Aviation is the 'Fast Track'
We Solved the Industry's Biggest Bottleneck
Ask any student pilot why their training took so long, and they will say one thing: 'The plane was broken.' At traditional schools, a broken magneto can ground a plane for weeks while they wait for an outside mechanic.
We own the Part 145 Repair Station. Our planes are prioritized. We keep the fleet flying so you keep learning. Combined with the clear skies of the High Desert, we offer more flyable hours per year than almost any school in the LA basin.
Strategic Advantages
- No Marine Layer: While LA schools are grounded by fog, we are flying.
- 180HP Conversions: Train on aircraft with the climb performance needed for commercial ops.
- Airline Mentorship: Learn from instructors who are currently flying the line.
Budget-Friendly Perspective
By offering rates significantly below the regional average ($155/hr vs $205/hr), we ensure that your investment goes further. Our pay-as-you-go model gives you full control over your training budget.

Your Roadmap to the Cockpit: Explained
How fast can I realistically go from 'Zero' to an Airline Pilot?
While the national average can drag on for 4+ years due to maintenance and weather delays, our 'Fast Track' structure is designed to get you there significantly faster. Dedicated full-time students can complete their ratings (PPL through CFI) in as little as 9–12 months. From there, you enter the 'time-building' phase as an instructor to reach your 1,500 flight hours. Our location at Fox Field avoids the coastal 'Marine Layer,' and our in-house Part 145 maintenance keeps the fleet flying, removing the two biggest obstacles to your timeline.
How does the program affordability compare?
We believe that high-quality training should be accessible. At $155/hr (wet), our rates are approximately $50/hr less than the regional average. Over the course of a full program, this saves you thousands of dollars, making our 'pay-as-you-go' structure a viable and debt-free alternative to traditional student loans.
Why train at Fox Field (KWJF) instead of a school in the LA Basin?
It comes down to two things: Flyable Days and Pilot Competency. Schools in the LA basin often lose weeks of training time to the morning marine layer (fog). At Fox Field, in the high desert, we have 300+ flyable days a year. Additionally, training in a high-density altitude environment with our 180HP Cessnas forces you to master energy management and crosswind techniques early, producing a more skilled, airline-ready pilot.
What happens if a training aircraft breaks down?
At most schools, you wait weeks for an outside mechanic. At MH Aviation, we own the Part 145 Repair Station. This means our training fleet gets priority maintenance. If a plane needs a fix, it goes directly to our in-house hangar and is back on the line efficiently. We eliminate the 'hidden killer' of flight training schedules so you keep logging hours.
Do I need a college degree to be hired by an airline?
No. The industry has shifted. Most regional and major airlines have removed the 4-year degree requirement to address the pilot shortage. The critical currency in today's market is your certificates (which we provide) and your 1,500 flight hours (which you build here). Your logbook matters more than your diploma.
Will I have a job after I complete my training?
While no school can legally 'guarantee' a job, MH Aviation actively seeks to hire its own graduates. We prefer hiring CFIs trained in our 'family-style' safety culture. Once you complete your CFI/CFII ratings, you are eligible to interview for a position as an instructor with us. This is the most reliable bridge to building your 1,500 hours while earning income.
What aircraft will I be training in?
You will train in a fleet optimized for both learning and modern relevance. We fly Cessna 172N/P models, upgraded with 180HP engine conversions for superior climb performance in the high desert. Crucially, our fleet features Garmin G5 glass cockpits, ensuring you transition to the airlines already proficient with modern digital flight displays.
What is the '1,500 Hour Rule' and how do I meet it?
The FAA generally requires pilots to have 1,500 hours of total flight time to hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate. Our Zero to Airlines program is a roadmap to this number. You spend your first ~250 hours paying for training (learning). You spend the next ~1,250 hours getting paid to fly (instructing). We provide the structure for both phases.
Can I start with no experience at all?
Absolutely. This program is literally designed for zero experience. We take you from your very first 'Discovery Flight' all the way to professional competency. The only prerequisites are being a U.S. citizen (or having TSA clearance), having English proficiency, and the ability to hold an FAA Medical Certificate.
How do I start?
The first step is booking a first flight. It’s a low-commitment way to meet our instructors, see our maintenance facility, and take the controls of an aircraft. If you’re ready to commit to a career, we will map out your training schedule and financing immediately. There are no waitlists at MH Aviation.
