Benefit:

Prerequisite :

  • Private pilote license

Training :

  • 10 hrs total flight time :
    • 5 hrs double
    • 5 hrs solo
    • 5 hrs instrument flying
  • No flight test
  • Theory lessons
  • No written exam

 

OVER THE TOP (VFR OTT) RATING

Benefit:

  • Flying above a cloud layer

Prerequisite:

  • Private pilot license

Training:

  • 15 hrs of instrument flying

 

INSTRUMENT (IFR) RATING

Benefit:

  • Flying without visual references on the ground

Prerequisite:

  • Private pilot license

Training:

  • 30 hrs of theory lessons:
    • Canadian aviation regulations
    • Instrument flying procedures
    • Meteorological
    • Instruments
    • Radio and radar systems
    • Navigation
  • Written exam – INRAT – 70%
  • 15 hrs of cross country
  • Flight test
